Canada: 4 May 2024: Canadian police have made arrests in the case of the killing of a well-known Sikh activist, Hardeep Singh Nijjar, which happened last year. This incident could cause more tension between India and Canada.

Three people, who are Indian citizens, were arrested in Edmonton, Alberta. They are charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder, according to RCMP Superintendent Mandeep Mooker. Mooker mentioned that the investigation is ongoing and they are looking into whether there are connections to the Indian government.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in British Columbia said that the arrests are part of their ongoing investigation into Nijjar's killing, which occurred on June 18, 2023, outside a Sikh temple in Surrey, British Columbia.
