Lahore ATC releases warrants for the arrest of 14 individuals who failed to appear for their May 9 court trials.

LAHORE: 4 May 2024: On Friday, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) issued arrest warrants that are revocable for 14 detainees who are currently out on bail for missing their cases' trial dates pertaining to the May 9 disturbances.Judge Arshad Javed directed the police to make sure that on May 15, nine suspects in the case of the Jinnah House attack and five more in the case of Askari Tower appear.In addition, the judge mandated that the suspects provide new bail bonds prior to their court appearances.


Amanullah, Abdul Hadi, Ikramullah, Attaur Rehman, Abdul Rehman, Shahbaz Siddique, Rubina Rizwan, Irfan Jamil, Saeed Shah, Mohsin Gull Agha, and Muhammad Parvez are among the suspects. BAIL: Jamshed Iqbal Cheema, the former leader of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, and his wife Musarrat Iqbal Cheema were granted temporary pre-arrest bail by an ATC on Friday. Judge Arshad Javed allowed the bail petitions of the couple till May 21, subject to furnishing of surety bonds worth Rs100,000 each.

They had sought bail in the cases of attacks on Askari Tower, Shadman police station, party offices of the PML-N and others.
The couple had surrendered before the court in February as they had been declared proclaimed offenders in several cases of May 9 riots against them.
