Hyderabad: 20 April 2024: The United States imposed penalties on four organisations for their suspected participation in selling "missile-applicable items" to Pakistan's ballistic missile development. Pakistan rejected what it called the "political use of export controls," the Foreign Office (FO) stated on Saturday. The US State Department asserted on Friday night that the organisations, which consisted of one Belarusian and three Chinese, were specifically supporting Pakistan's long-range missile projects."The ultimate goal of sanctions is not to punish, but to bring about a positive change in behaviour," the statement stated. The Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant in Belarus, the Xi'an Longde Technology Development Company Limited in the People's Republic of China, Tianjin Creative Source International Trade Co Ltd, and Granpect Company Limited are among the organisations that are subject to sanctions.

All of the designated entities' assets that are in the US or under the control of US citizens have been banned in accordance with the Executive Order 13382 sanctions. Moreover, these sanctions also apply to any persons or organisations that directly or indirectly possess 50% or more of the business owned by the specified individuals.Transactions involving any property or interests in property of blocked or designated individuals are prohibited by these restrictions unless approved by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or exempt. Contributions and the exchange of money, products, or services to or from any blocked individual fall under this category.

Moreover, Presidential Proclamation 8693 suspends the immigration of certain individuals into the United States. The US administration clarified that "the integrity of these sanctions lies not only in the ability to designate and add persons to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN), but also in the willingness to remove persons from the list in accordance with the law.”
