Islamabad: 14 April 2024: New Zealand's cricket team arrived in Islamabad early on Sunday for a five-match T20I series against Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) welcomed the Black Caps to the country in a statement, sharing a video of the squad's arrival in Islamabad. Pakistan will host New Zealand for five T20Is starting in Rawalpindi on April 18, as both teams prepare for the T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies in June.

Pakistan's 17-member squad, led by Babar Azam, includes fast bowler Mohammad Amir, all-rounder Imad Wasim, and uncapped players Usman Khan and Mohammad Irfan Khan Niazi. New Zealand made late call-ups to their squad, adding wicketkeeper Tom Blundell and uncapped all-rounder Zak Foulkes after injuries to Finn Allen and Adam Milne on the eve of departure for Pakistan. This visit marks New Zealand's third trip to Pakistan in 17 months.

Their first visit in December 2022 after 18 years saw two test draws, while New Zealand won the ODI series 2-1. In April last year, the five-match T20I series ended in a 2-2 draw, and Pakistan dominated the visitors in ODIs, winning the series 4-1.
