Lahore: 31 March 2024: Babar Azam is back as the captain of Pakistan's cricket team for T20 and ODI matches. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced this on Sunday. They said it was a unanimous decision by the selection committee and its chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Babar first became the T20 captain in 2019 and later took over the Test and ODI teams in 2020. However, he stepped down from the role last year after Pakistan performed poorly in the Asia Cup and the 50-over World Cup. Shaheen Shah Afridi took over as the T20 captain, and Shan Masood became the Test captain.
