Hyderabad: 31 Dec 202: As part of their preparations for New Year's Eve security, police caution revelers against shooting from the air.
Prior to New Year's Eve, security and other preparations, including safeguards against aerial firing, have been finished throughout Punjab and Sindh, according to police.In the meantime, Karachi has implemented a two-day total prohibition on the use of fireworks, aerial gunfire, and the carrying or displaying of firearms.
According to Commissioner Muhammad Saleem Rajput, the prohibition was put in place "to safeguard the people of the city during New Year's celebrations" in accordance with Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
A notification states that the ban was implemented by the commissioner between December 31, 2024, and January 1, 2024, using authority granted by the provincial home department. It is now authorized for all SHOs to file complaints.
