Covid-19 kills seven more people in Pakistan, infects 353 in 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: 25, DECEMBER, 2021: Coronavirus infections tally in the country has reached 1,293,081 on Saturday after more cases were reported in different parts of the country.
According to the national database, 353 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 0.73 percent.
As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 480,288 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 444,496, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 181,167, in Balochistan 33,621 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 108,425, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,429 while 34,655 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In addition, the country has recorded 28,905 deaths so far, after seven fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.
As per official data, Punjab recorded 13,062 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,661 in Sindh, 5,921 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 363 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 964 deaths and AJK recorded 746 deaths.
According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 23,096,757, corona tests and 48,148 in last 24 hours and 1,254,413 patients have recovered.
Reportedly, 466,570 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 428,771 in Punjab, 174,635 in KP, 33,167 in Balochistan, 107,169 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,238 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,863 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan whereas 624 patients are in critical condition.
