Pakistan reports 1,212 Covid-19 cases, 39 deaths in a day

ISLAMABAD: 06, OCTOBER, 2021: The number of coronavirus cases has surged 1,253,868 on Wednesday after more infections were reported in different parts of the country.

According to the national database 1,212 persons tested positive for the deadly virus in 24 hours whereas the positivity rate stands at 2.60 percent.

As per sources, cases in Sindh climbed to 461,258 the highest number so far in the country, while the confirmed infections tally in Punjab stood at 434,139, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cases jumped to 175,012, in Balochistan 33,004 cases reported, Islamabad Capital Territory covid-19 cases reached 105,839, Gilgit-Baltistan tally up to 10,338 while 34,278 cases were reported in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

In addition, the country has recorded 27,986 deaths so far, after 39 fatalities were reported over the last 24 hours.

As per official data, Punjab recorded 12,724 deaths, a highest number as compared to any other province while 7,451 in Sindh, 5,608 deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 186 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 349 in Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 930 deaths and AJK recorded 738 deaths.

According to the NCOC, Pakistan has so far carried out 19,685,529, corona tests and 46,477 in last 24 hours and 1,181,054 patients have recovered. 

Reportedly, 431,090 patients have been recovered in Sindh, 406,169 in Punjab, 165,426 in KP, 32,495 in Balochistan, 102,746 in Islamabad Capital Territory, 10,018 in Gilgit-Baltistan while in AJK 33,110 patients have been completely recovered across Pakistan. (04)
